Education Center of Electrical and Electronics Technology was established in 1999, developing from teaching and research sections of electrical basis, electronics and electrical engineering of former Department of Electrical Engineering. It consists of 44 teaching staffs (including laboratory teaching), of which there are 4 professors, 17 associate professors, 7 lecturers, 3 senior engineers (including senior laboratory engineer), 11 engineers (including laboratory engineer), and 2 mechanics. Among them, 9 teachers received doctoral degrees, 19 with master degrees, and over 70% of staffs are below the age of 40.
The Education Center is responsible for basic courses in electricity of the university, including circuit theory, analog electronics, digital electronics, electrical and electronic engineering, signal and systems, engineering electromagnetic fields, programmable logic controllers, electronic systems integration design, electrical and electronic studies, electrical and electronic engineering practice, etc. and experimental courses of the like.
The Education Center includes Institute of Advanced Technology of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Laboratory Center of Electrical and Electronic Engineering. They assume respectively the responsibility of scientific research and experimental teaching tasks. On the basis of theory and advanced technology of electrical engineering, the second-level discipline, the institute focuses its main research interests on theory and applications of electromagnetic field, automotive electronic systems engineering, measurement and application technology of electromagnet, intelligent test system and electrical control, etc. The laboratory center is located at Eastern Block 3, Zijingang Campus, its construction area reaching about 14000m². Designed to build 17 laboratories with a capacity of 1,200 students doing experiments, it provides students a variety of electrical and electronic experiments, and the experimental base for innovation with the first-class lab environment and equipments.
