The Center is composed of 15 laboratories with different functions to satisfy basic, compositive and advanced levels of student learning. It covers an area of 6700 square meters with the capacity of 1100 students for various experiments. In 2007 it was honored the State Experimental Education Demo Center.

There are now 25 experimental courses provided by the Center for a total of 53 majors in the university, its experimental projects having reached more than 290. About 7,000 students are enrolled each year for the experimental courses, the total number having exceeded 0.27 million. Roughly 21 million yuan was invested in operation in the past 5 years. A quantity of multi-level and multi-teaching-module experiments are carefully designed to meet the different needs such as basic experiment, design-oriented experiment, compositive experiment and innovative experiment. All the experiments, adhering to the principle of ability training, intend to improve students’ basic quality, comprehensive ability and innovation practice.

The Center has 48 teachers (including13 laboratory technicians), among whom there are 11 professors and 1 Provincial Outstanding Teacher.
