Prof. John Taylor's Lecture

On the afternoon of October 21, 2005, at the invitation of the College of Electrical Engineering, Prof. John Taylor from University of Bath United Kingdom came to visit our college and delivered a lecture entitled Analogue In A Digital World at the lecture hall in Electrical Engineering Building. The lecture introduced the analogue circuits and their practicality and usefulness in the digital world. The lecture received a lot of praise among teachers and students present.

Prof. John Taylor joined the university on 1st May 2002, and is the head of Microelectronics and Optoelectronics Department of the university. His main research interests are:    

1. Implantable systems for Electroneurogram (ENG) recording
2. Electroneurogram (ENG) signal processing
3. Programmable implantable stimulators
4. Radio frequency transmitters for transcutaneous links
5. Analogue approaches to reduced state Viterbi decoders
6. Application of analogue methods to motion estimation systems for low power video applications.
