Kyungsung University, Korea, IEEE IAS Distinguished Lecturer, Prof. Jin-Woo Ahn delivered an academic report at Zhejiang University on Switched Reluctance Motor and Applications.
On the afternoon of May 25 this Friday at Yuquan Campus, Zhejiang University IEEE IAS Student Branch Chapter (ZJU IEEE IAS SBC) invited Prof. Ahn to deliver anacademic presentation. Prof. Huang, Dr. Wang and students from EE College attended thelecture.
The lecture contained of some main aspects of designing a switched reluctance motor(SRM) and driving technology for industrial applications. Prof. Ahn introduced the evolution of SRM based on different structure designing from the original idea of SRM. He showed the axial flux structure switched reluctance motor, radial flux structure switched reluctance motor, the performance comparison of all aspects of the switched reluctance motor with different radial flux structure, and the control circuit and optimization design. Finally, the switched reluctancemotor in the application of domestic appliance,industry and transportation were introduced in detail.
After the lecture, Prof. Ahn shared ideas with students on related issues, which mainly focused on divergence of research focuses between China and other countries considering the fact that China having rich rare earth material resources. He welcomed further communication from students of the EE college.
