The University of Sheffield held an enrollment presentation for joint training degree programs at the EE College

On December 4th, 2018, Benjamin Short, Head of International and External Engagement of Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sheffield, UK, came to the College of Electrical Engineering to hold an enrollment presentation of "1+4" doctoral joint training degree program and "1+1.5” master's degree joint training degree program for postgraduate students of 2019. The meeting was hosted by ZHOU Xia, Department of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, College of Electrical Engineering.

Benjamin Short first introduced the general situation of the University of Sheffield to the teachers and students, and introduced the Double Degree Programs, including the research team, professional direction, and curriculum, etc. The students discussed questions with Mr. Benjamin Short about the application conditions, language requirements, and professional matching.

After the meeting, Mr. Benjamin Short held a symposium with XU Wenyuan and YU Miao, teachers of the Department of System Control and Science of the College of Electrical Engineering. The two sides exchanged views on scientific research cooperation and student joint training, hoping to strengthen the scientific research cooperation and exchanges between the supervisors of both sides on the basis of the degree program.

Double Degree Programs: Zhejiang University (ZJU) College of Electrical Engineering, and the University of Sheffield (UoS) Department of Electronic & Electrical Engineering, aim to collaborate to develop the following double degree programs in which high potential students from ZJU will normally be considered for admissions onto master programs at UoS.

- MSc (UoS) and PhD (ZJU): Y1 at UoS, and Y2, Y3, Y4, Y5 at ZJU (for ZJU doctoral students)

- MSc (UoS) and MSc(ZJU): Y1 at UoS, and Y2 and a half at ZJU (for ZJU master students) 

Under the terms of this arrangement it is expected that students undertaking the MSc/PhD programme, and the MSc/MSc programme will return to China at the end of the course to complete their studies.
