The College of Electrical Engineering at Zhejiang University (ZJU), established in 1920, is one of the oldest electrical engineering departments in China. The College, located at Yuquan campus of Zhejiang University, comprisesof Dept. of Electrical EngineeringDept. of System Science and Engineering, Dept. of Applied Electronics, and Education Center of Electrical and Electronics Technology. The College of Electrical Engineering invites global applications from candidates in research areas including but not limited to:

1. Electrical engineering frontier technologies: advanced electrical/electronic materials, micro/nano electronics, packaging, etc.

2. Advanced electrical equipments: electrical machines and drives, power electronics and energy conversion, etc.

3. Electrical energy systems: smart grid, electrical Internet of Things, renewable energy, etc.

4. Intelligent electrical technologies: cyber security, robotics, artificial intelligence, sensing, bio/medical applications, intelligent electrical system, energy harvesting, etc.

5. Other electrical/electronic engineering research areas

 

Full-time Positions:

1.    Zhejiang University “Qiushi” Distinguished Professor

Qualifications and Requirements:

(1) The candidate should hold assistant professorship or above (or an equivalent title) in a prominent overseas university or full professorship (or an equivalent title) in a domestic university.

(2) The candidate should have outstanding research capabilities and achievements, and are recognized by peers as at a leading level.

(3) The candidate shall work full-time at ZJU and be 55 years of age or under.

 Remuneration:

(1) The initial employment period is 4 years.

(2) Good working and living conditions, competitive compensation, and generous research funding will be provided.

(3) Those qualified may apply for one of the apartments specifically reserved by ZJU for top-level talents.

 

2.    Zhejiang University “Hundred Talents Program” (Tenure Track)

Qualifications and Requirements:

(1) The candidate should hold a doctoral degree. The candidate should hold an assistant professorship or an associate professorship (or an equivalent title) in a prominent university or research institution.

(2) The candidate should have outstanding academic development potential and cooperative spirit, and can independently develop an academic orientation.

(3) The candidate should be 35 years old or under. Once recruited, he/she shall work full-time at ZJU.

Remuneration:

(1) Competitive compensation and good welfares will be provided.

(2) The qualified candidate will be recruited as research professor, and could supervise doctoral students.

(3) The qualified candidate will be granted competitive research funding and recommended to apply for national, provincial and ministerial talent programs by ZJU. The above-mentioned benefits will be correspondingly improved if a candidate is selected into national, provincial and ministerial talent programs, and the candidates will receive national and provincial incentive support.

 

3. Zhejiang University Distinguished Research Fellow /Distinguished Associate Research Fellow

 Qualifications and Requirements:

(1) The candidate should hold a doctoral degree from a prominent overseas university or domestic university. The candidate for Distinguished Research Professor should reach the academic level of professors in the discipline, and Distinguished Associate Research Professor should reach the academic level of associate professors in the discipline.

(2) The candidate should have outstanding academic development potential and cooperative spirit, and his/her research area should be in accordance with the overall research orientation constructed by the College.

(3) Candidate’s qualifications are negotiable for urgently needed research areas of the College.

(4) The candidate for Distinguished Research Professor should be 38 years of age or under; the candidate for Distinguished Associate Research Professor should be 35 years of age or under.                                   Remuneration:

(1)The qualified candidates will be provided with competitive compensation and annual salary, including wages, housing subsidies, social insurance and other welfares during the pre-employment period.

(2)The qualified candidates will be provided research funding and entitled with benefits provided by ZJU to the equivalent teaching position. He/she is entitled to rent a faculty apartment from ZJU in accordance with the regulation of the University.

(3)The candidates should work full time at ZJU. The qualified candidates for Distinguished Research Professor could supervise doctoral students; the qualified candidates for Distinguished Associate Research Professor could supervise master’s students.

 

4.    Post-Doctoral Research Fellow

Qualifications and Requirements:

(1) The candidate should work full time at ZJU.

(2) The candidate should hold a doctoral degree and demonstrate strong research capabilities.

(3) Generally the applicant should be 35 years of age or under. 

Remuneration:

The University, cooperative supervisors, the College and society are integrated into a post-doctoral funding system and provide classified funding.

(1) Special funding: The candidate should hold a doctoral degree granted by one of the top 100 universities in the world. Or the candidate should have a foreign nationality and hold a doctoral degree granted by a well-known overseas university. Exception may be made for candidates who have acquired important achievements in research or other fields and hold a doctoral degree. The candidate will be provided with an annual salary of more than 300,000 yuan.

(2) Key funding: The candidate should hold a doctoral degree granted by a well-known overseas universities, or national double-first-class construction universities. Or he/she should hold a doctoral degree granted by advantageous disciplines. The candidate will be provided with an annual salary of more than 200,000 yuan.

(3) Others: The College will provide well-equipped teachers’ apartment with preferential rents, social insurance and other welfares.
